God created us to do be part of community. Paul says in Romans 12:5, “We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” We desire to be a family of people that love one another, rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn. We have found that while this can happen on Sunday mornings – the best place to truly belong is in a small group of people learning & growing together. Our LifeGroups and Bible Studies are the place where these relationships are forged over time.
We want to be a people that are continually “growing in grace & knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). We are not content to be the same people today that we were last year. We look to God’s Word on a regular basis on Sunday mornings, amongst friends, in small groups, and in various other ways to teach us, change us, and grow us into mature followers of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 5:11-14).
In looking at the New Testament church and Jesus’ example, we see that we are called to “serve and not be served.” (Matthew 20:28) We believe this happens both in the church family as well as in our community and around the world. We have been blessed by God in so many ways – with skills, opportunities, talents, and finances. It is our responsibility to use these blessings to bless others.
We take Jesus commands in Matthew 28:19-20 very seriously. We have been given the command to “make disciples of all people”. So that is what we do. We are working in our community & around the world to reach people with the life changing message of the Gospel.
